Fatigue analysis of implant components

Fatigue tests are used to determine endurance properties that could be caused by cyclic mechanical loads. Our laboratory operates several uniaxial or multiaxial servo-hydraulic testing machines with maximum axial load of 25 kN. We have a long experience in standardized testing according to ISO 7206-4 (for artificial hip joints), but we also offer our costumers assistance for individual testing and development of new or existing implant systems.





Optionally, under constant ambient conditions the tests can be conducted in sodium chloride solution or calf serum at 37C. We can then apply individual load profiles described in ISO 7206 like tests with increasing load levels until component fracture is achieved. We will be pleased to advise you on specific issues in order to ensure a reliable statement.
